My poor neglected blog!

POMEGRANATES & PROSE
16 x 20 inches
Oils on Cradled Wood Panel

I'm hoping that my muse will come back to me after a  "too long" sabatical. I finished my studio but still haven't picked up a brush to do a full sized painting since I put everything in place.

Drat those mental and creative blocks!  I've done lots of needlework (knitting, crocheting and sewing) but no paintings other than my little Oddiments.

I'm hoping I can get back on track in 2015! Wish me luck, ok?

Both of these paintings will be available next week through
Santa Fe, New Mexico

COMPANIONS...

I finally finished the companion painting to OLD OAK & REDBUD and the two paintings are ready to be delivered to La Posada de Santa Fe.  I'm looking forward to being able to hand deliver them and enjoy a short road trip to Santa Fe and a stay at this beautiful hotel! What a treat!

It's always nice to get through a project like this one and it's fun to get started on the next painting. I have a good one planned and I'll try to post some progress paintings as I work through it.

Another day...

Here is today's progress. I've worked on rouging in some of the bowl (by no means there yet) and most of the background and tightened up the oranges a little. Fortunately, I had that pretty much in order BEFORE the cat tried to sleep in the set-up and pushed the bowl and the oranges to the floor.

Another day...

"Monument to Oranges" or "Orange Appeal"?

What's on my easel...

Here is the start on my newest painting...

This is only the top half of it. The bottom is barely sketched in. I'm happy so far.

I need to think of a name for this one. This monument of oranges is in a green pedestal bowl. Maybe that's what I should call it... "Monument of Oranges"

It's a 16 x 20 vertical and the oranges are fairly large.

"Little Orange"

4" x 4" oil painting on wood panel

Daily painting for November 20, 2009

A cute little orange that I bought as a snack. I'm glad I took photos before I ate it! This is the second painting that I've done...first in watercolor (SOLD) and this time in oils.

You can bid on it...My items on eBay
